Intraflon (I.V. Cannula)

An I.V. cannula, also known as an intravenous catheter, is a medical device inserted into a patient’s vein to deliver fluids, medications, or blood products directly into the bloodstream. It consists of a thin, hollow tube made of materials such as plastic or stainless steel.

I.V. cannulas typically have a sharp, beveled tip to facilitate insertion into the vein and may be equipped with features like wings or a port for securing the device and administering medications or fluids. The size of the cannula is denoted by a gauge number, with smaller gauge numbers indicating larger needle diameters.
